Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 11,514 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday (August 5), bringing the number of coronavirus patients to 479,779 in the past 24 hours. According to the state health department announcement, the state also added 316 deaths, bringing the total to 16,792.
A total of 10,845 patients were discharged today, and so far, 316,375 patients in the state have recovered and been discharged.
The number of COVID-19 patients in Mumbai has increased to 1,20,165, with 910 new cases reported today. The death of 57 patients brings the death toll in the metropolis to 6,645.
According to Buriham Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 988 patients were discharged, bringing the number of recovered cases to 92,661. The COVID-19 recovery rate in Mumbai is 77%, with 20,562 active cases.
So far, BMC has conducted nearly 275,000 COVID-19 tests in Mumbai.
In the last 24 hours, the Kalyan Dombivali metropolitan area near Mumbai has witnessed 209 new coronavirus cases, bringing the number of positive patients to 21,007 and the number of deaths to 412.
In Dharavi, Mumbai, 8 new COVID-19 cases were added today, bringing the total to 2,597. Only 82 of them were active, and 2,257 people recovered after treatment.
In the past 24 hours, as many as 258 coronavirus cases have been reported in Thane City, bringing the total to 20516, and the death toll has risen to 667.
