Delhi police uncovered the gang carrying out a bold daytime robbery of underground cables

New Delhi: The Delhi police have arrested a gang from the Janakpuri area on suspicion of stealing electrical wires for 1 million rupees.

The eight-member gang used JCB machines to rob in broad daylight.

The group used JCB machines to excavate the MTNL site in the Janakpuri area and cut an underground cable worth nearly Rs 1 million.

Then, they will take the copper inside the cable and sell it on the market.

To reduce suspicion, the gang made a plan so that they could rob without any doubt.

Their leader kept a forged letter or a copy of MTNL’s order, allegedly allowing the excavation.

This was done to ensure that no one asked any questions about the excavation.

All defendants wore proper clothing and performed operations in compliance with all necessary safety regulations.

Azaruddin, the leader of the gang, is a repeat offender. He has committed three similar robberies before.

All the arrested were from a village called Taran in Bihar. Azharuddin gathered everyone and included them in the robbery.

The police recovered copper wire worth 600,000 rupees from them.
