On Thursday (September 17), a terrorist was killed by security forces during a clash between Jammu and Batmaloo in Kashmir. A CRPF official was also injured during the encounter. During the exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists, a civilian was also killed.
The security forces have not revealed the identity of the deceased terrorist. The search in the area is still ongoing.
IGP Jammu (IGP Jammu) and Kashmir Vijay Kumar (Kashmir Vijay Kumar) said: “An unidentified terrorist was killed, a woman was killed in the initial exchange of fire, and the deputy commander of CRPF also received bullet wounds and was transferred. Go to the military hospital for treatment.”
A police officer said that a woman named Kosal was hit by a bullet and was immediately taken to the hospital, but died of her injuries.
Earlier, at midnight, with the presence of terrorists ascertained, the joint team of Chamu and the Kashmir police and CRPF launched a security and search operation in the area.
A police officer said that when the joint team sealed off the house where the terrorists were hiding. The terrorists then opened fire on the search party, forcing the security forces to retaliate, leading to the encounter.
On Wednesday (September 16), the Ministry of the Interior (MHA) stated that since the repeal of Article 370, terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir have been reduced by 54%.
